Bible Verse of the Week - Romans 5:4-5

Verse:

Romans 5:4-5

"And endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us."

Romans 5 Told by Olay

What it reveals:

Whenever we experience challenging times in our lives whether it be through new experiences, adjusting to a new job, mourning the loss of someone, or overcoming self-doubt those moments are all in the potential to make us stronger.

It is often those big life-changing moments that shape who we become and the outlook we have on life. This verse is meant to encourage us that what we've been through wasn't meant to break us but to make us stronger. And as we recognize the strength we've experienced we can have hope that what may come next will not break us and it also serves as a reason to preserver. And when in doubt or when our hope is shaken we can remember that God is with us every day. And trust that His Holy Spirit living within us is the source of strength, hope, and love we need to preserve and endure.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for your Holy Spirit, and thank you because though life has gotten me down it has not broken me. I pray that I would continue to receive the strength to endure and the hope to persevere. Go with me this week as and remind me that every endurance required moment is building my character. In Jesus' name, amen!
