ACKNOWLEDGING HIS EVER PRESENT, PRESENCE

Do you know what truth is often overlooked in everyday life of a believer?

It's the truth that we walk with the presence of God every day and everywhere.

It's not that it's intentional, but many aren't always conscious of this truth. It's not that we don't know that He walks with us and that He's with us, but that we don't proactively engage and connect with him in the same manner we casually acknowledge the people around us.

And it's not unbelievable because, as humans, it's obviously easier to connect with what you can see. But, I realize that the deeper you go in Christ and the longer you sit [dwell] with Him, the more tangible His presence is.

God can be our everything in everything if we're careful to include Him. Now, this is where we may have to do things that can appear weird to the human eye. From my perspective, we have to pray within ourselves, pray in tongues, get caught up in worship, search His word for His voice...and we have to be willing to do all of these things in the beginning, middle, and end of a thing regardless of what it might interrupt and regardless of who may see or what they may think.

I'm talking in the middle of a meeting, on the way to a call, or waiting on a date; you are singing within yourself, blasting off in tongues, or praying, "Holy Spirit..help me...empower me..grant me grace..." This is the type of behavior that acknowledges that Abba is with you. And because you know He's with you, you don't have to rely on yourself or man alone.

Being able to acknowledge the presence of God calls for action-oriented radical faith. It's a mindset that says, 'I'm willing to surrender what is 'normal' to ensure I'm led, comforted, and held in safety by God.' It remembers that God is Omnipresent - Everywhere, All Around. Just as He is unlimited in His power [omnipotent], He's infinite in His reach.

For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is. - Colossians 2:5

So, for those of you who are often feeling alone or still asking yourself, "how do I know God is with me?" this is for you. Knowing God's ever-present presence will require you to be sensitive, attentive, and memorable (someone who remembers). Sensitivity to the spirit and how it moves in your life while retaining the moment/experiences you've had with Him. Look to these experiences as reference points to how God's presence shows up in your life.

And when His presence enters, you must acknowledge it with thanksgiving on your lips. And don't you dare hesitate to give Him praise - He loves when you sit with him and glorify His holy name. Not only does it bring Him joy, but in His presence there is a joy that you too will get to experience. There is also safety, comfort, consuel, peace and even rest.

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16: 11
